Certifications
Megan Hughes is Registered in good standing with both the College of Psychologists of BC and the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. She is a Psychology Assistant and a Registered Clinical Counsellor.
She has certification in the use of Advanced Level Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma, phobias, and chronic pain.
She is trained through the Trauma Centre in Massachusettes to use Trauma Sensitive Yoga as an adjunct to her therapy practice with clients.
She is certified to use Cognitive Rehabilitation strategies with clients suffering with brain injuries or impairments in the areas of attention, memory, executive functioning, social communication and hemiphasic issues. Her training was through the American Congress for Rehabilitation Medicine.
She also is certified to use Clinical Hypnosis in her practice, from the Canadian Society for Clinical Hypnosis.
Megan Hughes has training in the use of Art Therapy, Drama and Play Therapy as well as parent and child behaviour support from private supervision.

Megan Hughes belongs to a number of Professional Associations. Membership keeps professional psychologists and counsellors current in their knowledge and practice, connected with other members, and accountable for the quality and ethics of their practice.
She is a Registrant in good standing with the College of Psychologists of BC and with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. She just received her Registration with the College this year, and has been a Registered Clinical Counsellor for 18 years with a spotless record of practice.
She is also a member of the Canadian Society for Clinical Hypnosis, where she receives up to date information on the latest knowledge and research into the use of clinical hypnosis in practice.
Megan stays current in her knowledge of her specialization areas through her connection with the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies, the EMDR International Association and the Psychoneuroimmunology Research Society.
Megan belongs to the Canadian Pain Society, Pain BC and the National ME/FM Action Network. Megan stays current in her knowledge on the latest research and efforts in the complex area of chronic pain and illness through these groups.
